Noah is Diagnosed with Language Delay
Noah was diagnosed with speech apraxia at the age of 3. We had no idea what it meant or what it would entail for our son going forward. Noah was nonverbal and had trouble expressing himself. If he picked up a word he could say, after some time he could not say the word again. We knew we needed to find a school with experienced teachers equipped with the knowledge to help Noah.

Noah’s pediatrician recommended he attend the Tygerberg hospital school for children with apraxia. Feeling anxious about Noah’s needs and wanting to ensure the best solution for him, I did my own research and came across Mindstretch School, where we then enrolled Noah.
Noah Makes Rapid Progress at Mindstretch
Within the first couple of weeks at Mindstretch, Noah was counting to 3. My heart felt like it would explode with joy on hearing his voice. After that initial success, Noah’s progress took off and he’s never looked back.
The teachers at Mindstretch tailored their interactions to Noah’s needs, prompting him to use speech. They encouraged speech in his lessons and during playtime while always being mindful of his situation and not pushing him too hard. Over time Noah’s words become sentences and then songs.
Noah’s rapid progress was very visible to us. He consistently surprised us with his development and increased confidence in himself. Noah continuously improved during his 3 years at Mindstretch School.
