Spring has sprung, bringing a fresh burst of positive energy. Having wrapped up another excellent term, we share here a few of our accomplishments.

Expanding our Team
We’re delighted to welcome Nicolette and Warda to Mindstretch as Teachers. Both have an NQF Level 5, and both have over a decade of teaching experience.
Prioritising Tailored Tuition
We’ve just completed an IEDP (Individualized Education and Development Plan) term. The plans ensure strong tailored education. We use them to identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses and set achievement goals because we know from experience that it helps our learners improve quickly.
Adding to our Intramurals
We’ve introduced Kinderkinetics to our junior campus. Our senior campus continues to benefit from weekly visits from Sports Hub. Both help develop our children by stimulating and remedying motor skills and physical development with activities appropriate to their age and skill level.
Celebrating Spring Day
We celebrate the positive at Mindstretch. It’s why we held a party to mark the renewal and fresh hope that Spring brings. We used the event to educate on the seasons at the same time our children got joyously social!
Valuing Continuing Education
We continuously develop our staff. By building their knowledge we help them to help our learners progress further and quicker. We were especially pleased when all our educators recently took personal time on a Saturday to attend a workshop on gross motor activities. This adds to previous training on fine motor activities.
Another of our recent training sessions focused on crossing the midline and bilateral integration skills. Thanks to Cape Town-based Paediatric Occupational Therapist Christelle Nel for sharing an article on the topic. Read it here: Bilateral Integration Skills.
Acting on Safety
All staff members at Mindstretch School have recently renewed their First Aid Certification. We do all we can to care for our learners’ health and wellbeing.
Taking Care of our Team
A school is only as good as the quality of its teaching and a good business is built on good employee culture. We build up our Teachers. This past term we prioritized continuing education, engaged in fun team building exercises like Sumo wrestling, and celebrated key birthdays.
Another Success: Noah's Tribute
Thanks to Ivana for sharing the story of Noah’s journey with Mindstretch – read it here: Tribute for Noah. Noah came to use with a speech challenge. It was our great privilege to help him find his words.

Speech and Language Delays
We address speech and language delays at Mindstretch School.
Our Teachers are trained in several proven methodologies. They use Makaton signing to augment language, and model both words and basic sentences for their learners. Where appropriate, they use sentence framing.
We offer additional dedicated speech therapy on an extramural basis, if required. Our Teachers consult with the Speech and Language Therapists to allow speech facilitation to be integrated into the child’s school day.

Training. Teaching. Succeeding.
We’re based in Pinelands, Cape Town. Let us help your child succeed in life.
