Admissions & Enrollment

What Ages do You Take?

  • We offer programmes for young children aged 2.5 to 8 years.

Must Children be Potty Trained?

  • New enrollees must be potty trained by the age of 5.

Do You Allow Mid-Year Entry?

  • We consider entry on an individual basis, providing there’s space in the appropriate class.

What Grades are Offered?

  • Early ECD through Grade R. We offer both a Grade R Remedial track (the CAPS curriculum) and a Grade R Amended track (adapted programme).

What are the Fees?

  • Available on request, our fees reflect our intensive program, specialized daily therapies, and high teacher-to-student ratio. Contact Rene at rene@mindstretch.co.za for the schedule or to book a consultation and site visit.

Educational Approach

What Challenges and Delays do You Support?

  • We support children with mild to moderate learning challenges and developmental delays, including but not limited to:
    • Autism spectrum disorders
    • Global developmental delays
    • ADHD and attention difficulties
    • Sensory processing and motor coordination challenges
    • Language, reading, and writing delays.

What is HANDLE Therapy?

  • HANDLE (Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development and Learning Efficiency) is a proven therapeutic approach. We incorporate HANDLE in our daily programme to help build the neurological pathways that support learning and development.

Do You Offer Speech Therapy & OT?

  • Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Behaviour Management & Therapeutic Support are offered on an extra-mural basis.

Logistics & Care

Where is Mindstretch Located?

  • The school’s located in Pinelands, Cape Town. We primarily serve families in the Southern Suburbs, including Pinelands, Rondebosch, Claremont, Thornton, Mowbray, and Observatory.

What are the School Terms?

  • We follow the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) calendar.

Do You Offer Transport to School?

  • No, we do not offer transport services.

Do You Have Aftercare?

  • Yes, aftercare is available for enrolled students until 14:30 or 17:00. This includes supervised activities such as storytelling, playtime, and rest periods.

Do You Offer Holiday Care?

  • We run a one-week holiday care programme during the longer school breaks (twice a year), led by a Mindstretch educator.

Are You Accessible for Physical Challenges?

  • Our facilities cannot accommodate children with significant physical disabilities.
