Mindstretch News – Positively Forward

We’re into our final term and it’s been a Big Bold Beautiful time optimizing good progress. Here’s a snapshot of some of our recent activities.

Tailored Education, a Priority

We’ve just completed our mid-year IEDP (individualized education and development plan) term. Parents get to meet with their child’s teacher. Together they agree any revisions to the year’s plan. We find we need this check in because Mindstretch learners progress quickly and it’s important their IEDP always supports their continued development. In this way we build bright futures.

Life’s Milestones, Worth Celebrating

We prioritize time to breathe and reflect on this wonderful life. The positivity and fun serves our learners, staff and Mindstretch families. It builds culture and community. Our children learn about key holidays and moments in time. They learn to embrace diverse activities and to socialize widely.

We had a brilliant time celebrating Women’s Day, the Winter Solstice and Spring Day. Pony rides, face painting, a clown visit, singalong show and sunshine outdoors, who could ask for more?

Learning, We Find it Where it is

We took a visit to Pinelands local library. It’s one of our favourite off-site educational visits. We find a child with a book a beautiful sight.

We also love to invest in the continued development of our staff. Several Mindstretch teachers recently attended ABC autism-specific training at Vera School. We valued the course, and rank it among the best we’ve attended.

Novelty, it Works

We know that novelty can improve learning and memory, thanks to dopamine activation. And so we constantly innovate or introduce interesting new items to Mindstretch. We might simply change the setting or sequence of a task. Or we might introduce sparkling new equipment. Like the bright new bridge that all our learners want to try…

Rounding out the Experience

Our children love their Sports Hub visits. Experienced and qualified coaches offer structured sessions. They bring a vigour that energizes our learners. Sports Hub will visit both our junior and senior campuses through the summer.

This term we’re also hard at work preparing for our end of year concert. Watch our Facebook page for more.
