Mindstretch Preschool Tribute for Simeon

Simeon

Shared by his mother, Asfaneh

When we stepped into Mindstretch, it was one of the first times we didn’t feel the need to translate our son, Simeon. We felt safe, we felt seen, and we felt like our family had found a new support system where our son could belong.

After a long season of lockdown and watching our son battle regression, we began our journey with Mindstretch in January 2021. Our key goal at the time was the hope that one day Simeon would walk independently. Just 3 months after being enrolled at Mindstretch, we watched Simi take his first independent steps. A year later, Simi confidently walks on his own and has found a new sense of independence that we had only ever dreamed of!

The dedication, consistency, and intentional care poured into on our son’s life has exceeded our expectations and has challenged us to dream even bigger for our Simi.

Thank you Mindstretch, for not seeing Simi through the lens of limitations but instead fully embracing his unique journey. Our family has truly been strengthened and healed by your support! We hope other families can experience the same. It’s why we provided the Mindstretch Preschool Tribute, to share the good news.

We felt safe, we felt seen, and we felt like our family had found a new support system where our son could belong.

Simeon Excels! A Note from Principal Jennifer

Although we had only 2021 to work with Simeon as his family had to move to care for an elderly relative, we made good progress quickly. This is because we approached Simi’s care through gentle enhancement and from multiple angles. After careful observation, we quickly designed and applied a programme tailored to his special needs. HANDLE Therapy given daily was the key element that let us help Simi write his incredible success story. What a privilege to see it unfold.

To learn more about the key interventions Simi received, see the accompanying article HANDLE Therapy at Work

At Mindstretch we give HANDLE Therapy every day to assist the building of neurological pathways that promote learning.
